Surgical Tech FT Days at Saint Vincent Hospital summary:

A Surgical Technologist at Saint Vincent Hospital assists in a variety of surgical procedures by preparing equipment, organizing instruments, and supporting the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role requires certification by the NBSTSA and typically at least one year of experience. The position focuses on ensuring safe, efficient surgery in a technologically advanced healthcare environment.

Position Summary:

The Operating Room Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective care. Functions in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases. Scrubs on surgical cases, operates surgical equipment, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the direction of the Registered nurse circulator and surgeon.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: :

Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: :

One year experience working as a certified surgical technologist preferred.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), BLS required
