Summary: A shipping and receiving clerk (coordinator) are responsible for ensuring both inbound and outbound shipments reach their destination. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. The shipping coordinator ensures that packages are picked up, processed, and delivered on time while navigating the logistics of shipping and receiving.

Responsibilities:

• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for receiving and warehouse departments.
• Prepare and maintain inbound/outbound shipment schedules and documents.
• Communicate and interact with inbound/outbound drivers.

Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels for domestic and international shipments.

• Assist if needed inspect materials for damage, quality issues, or quantity discrepancies upon receipt and notify appropriate departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe office environment, adhering to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with receiving and shipping departments regarding both inbound and outbound shipments.
• Assist with raw material and finish goods inventory/cycle counts, to ensure accurate inventory levels and efficient material flow.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, (or a GED) or equivalent experience is required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Working harmoniously with drivers while exhibiting a professional attitude.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Shipping coordinators may work independently but often collaborate with other team members.
• 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving or logistics

• Basic knowledge of both shipment and inventory systems; experience with SAP preferred.
• Familiarity with shipping/receiving documents (e.g., packing slips, bill of lading).

• Strong organizational and time management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
