Job Description

The Illinois State University Athletics Department is committed to academic and athletic excellence as it prepares today's student-athletes to become tomorrow's leaders. This position directly contributes to that mission by coordinating the management of intercollegiate athletic events and facilities. This position is responsible for planning, organizing; staffing, and managing assigned intercollegiate athletic events and activities, and assisting with the administration of Missouri Valley Conference Championships & IHSA State Championship events.

This position is responsible for all aspects of Horton facility operations. This includes day-to-day operations, event scheduling, maintenance requests, and responsible for the safety and security of the facility. This position assists in planning and monitoring of repair, rehab, and maintenance projects.

  • 1. Bachelors degree or equivalent in hospitality, marketing, public relations, communications, business administration, student affairs, sports management, or a closely related field.
  • 2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in Athletic Events and Game Operations at the collegiate level or general knowledge of Athletic Facility Operations
  • 3. Valid driver's license
  • 4. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with a variety of populations.
  • 5. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
